Is golf less exercise than bowling?

Most Americans get no exercise during work hours unlike years ago when you needed to spen many hours our in the wilderness tracking moose or bear very few jobs require vigorous physical activity.

People ride, not walk, to and fro. In cars, buses, trains, elevators, escalators, moving walkways and watching TV during free time rather than being physically active.

Activities like golfing and bowling provide people with some benefit. But they do not provide the same benefits as regular, more vigorous exercise.

That being said, bowling expends 115-170 calories per hour and golf (without a cart, wide load) 115-400 calories per hour.

So, golfing is the clear winner of the little-to-no-exercise set. But there is a cost involved.

If you're like me you want to spend as little on exercise as possible, and there's no greater place to do this than the internet.
